Eat Dirt. Go Car Rallying. High Octane Pastime
If you want something exciting to do then car rallying might be your thing. Although l have alway loved cars and driving fast i have only recently started watching car rallying, due to the fact that my very good friend Hugh as taken it up again, and he is quite good at it and competes in the British Rallychampionships.
He has always driven like a madman and on many occasions when we were younger l had to close my eyes or peep from between my fingers when l was in the car with him. So now he is exceling at this sport. It is quite a trill to see him mentioned in the rally programe and his team TQ. His team mate Dave Higgins is the better driver and has his own rally school in Wales so if you fancy having a go yourself.
Matthew is also a petrol head like his mum and watches top gear when he gets the chance, he as been to the rallies with me in the Carlisle, Isle of Mann and Yorkshire standing on track side and having to shift very quickly if a car goes the wrong way, if you get too close you are liable to get a mouth full of dirt as they handbrake turn the corners. Matthew and I hope to go to The World Rally championships in Wales this year.

World Rally Championships GB Wales
The GB section is held in Cardiff and Swansea. Now before l sarted taking a real interest in this l though it was all off road, but no more often than not they start and finish in town centres where they drive alongside us mere mortals, very often with half a car missing including wheels and still they try to get to the finish. If you fancy watching some of this for an eyeopener or eye waterer as one guy found when a metal spike went through the floor of the car and the passenger/navigators seat watch Dave and Dave+ on TV
